    We desperately needed to replace the old cast iron plumbing in our circa 1913 town home. While we were tearing out walls to do this, we thought we would renovate the kitchen and bathroom as well. This must have been a crazy idea! We met with three contractors to understand what our project would cost. Two of them never came back while one sent an estimate that was more than the value of the house.

    We knew there were a great deal of challenges in our place, but we really did not expect what happened. We were about to give up and sell when we were referred to John Ricks and his company RH Homes. John came in, listened to our needs, understood our tight timeline, and had no issue with our demands.

    Well, we thought we would be OK after meeting with John, but we were not expecting the level of service and workmanship that we received. All of John's work has been performed with the utmost professionalism and courtesy. He and his sub-contractors worked hard to limit the level of inconvenience we experienced. He was on time for every appointment, called as soon as there was a concern and offered clear options to resolve any issue. John scheduled regular walk throughs of the project and, most importantly, he answered his phone virtually every time I called. We were not easy on John either, but he performed under pressure, brought our project in on time, on budget, and far exceeded our expectations in every way. If there is ever an opportunity to recommend a contractor (and we have many times), RH Homes is my first choice.

    RH Homes built a large addition on the back of my house to accomodate a 14 x 14 foot kitchen, screened in porch and bedroom bumpout. They completed the interior and the exterior. It went extremely well. I submitted architect plans to about 5 contractors for bid and RH Homes won by a significant amount. John Ricks, the owner, started the construction in July and it was finished in November. They stayed with it throughout without interruption. John stayed in touch with me throughout the project, asked me questions to make sure it was being done how I wanted, responded to my questions without delay, and supervised the progress. His subs were all respectful and considerate. This was my first experience with a contractor and I was prepared for issues, but never had a single one! The whole project was completely stress-free. In fact, now that it's done I'm going into withdrawal and want to start another!

    I really can't say enough about John Ricks and his ability to make it all so easy. His subs cleaned up after themselves, he let me know what was going to be happening next, he even has someone who comes in and cleans at the end of it! I am very, very happy with my new kitchen and porch and the entire process of getting them. Don't start a project without checking out RH Homes first.

    I have a home built in the 1920s and hired RH Homes to remodel the kitchen/dining room areas and the master bathroom. The rooms were gutted, electric and plumbing were upgraded, walls were moved, new walls, flooring, and cabinets were installed. The entire renovation process for both projects went exceptionally well. RH Homes provided a very competitive and detailed quote with realistic allowances for materials (cabinets, granite, plumbing fixtures, etc.) The project completed in the estimated time frame and under budget, and John Ricks (the owner of RH Homes) did a great job communicating with me of what to expect throughout the entire renovation process and was very receptive to my changes/ feedback. He pays close attention to details and would make corrections before I had a change to point out imperfections and he would often make suggestions to improve the quality of the project, while always keeping my budget in mind.

    John takes pride in the quality of his work, does a great job managing the subcontractors, and has the experience to anticipate and prevent project delays and unexepected costs. He is also very kid friendly, and was patient with my young children's curiousity about the project and he was very careful to keep the areas as safe as possible. John also worked to minimize the amount of debris/dust from the projects -- which made it much easier to live in the house while the renovation was underway.
